The puck lights can be operated manually by tapping the center button on and off but full functionality is through the remote. Not only do you get simple on/off operation, you can choose high or low brightness plus a battery saving 30 minute timer mode.
The remote can be operated from its included cradle (also peel and stick installation) or you can remove the remote from the cradle for hand held operation.
Each puck light runs on 3 AAA batteries and the remote uses 2 AAA batteries (all are included).

MOUNTING THE LIGHTS: Clean and dry the surface where you wish to mount the light. Peel the backing off of the included peel and stick disc and press firmly for 30 seconds. The light mounts to the metal disc magnetically. The light also mounts magnetically to most smooth metal surfaces.
MOUNTING THE REMOTE CRADLE: Clean and dry the surface you wish to mount cradle to. Peel the backing off of the peel and stick tab on the back of the cradle. Carefully place the cradle in the desired location and press firmly for 30 seconds. You may also mount the cradle using 2 small screws (not included).
BEFORE USING THE REMOTE: Slide the remote out of its cradle. Push down on the battery cover arrow with your thumb and slide the cover off. Gently pull the battery saver strip out of the battery compartment. Replace the battery cover by sliding it back into place until you feel a click.
REMOTE OPERATION: Turn the lights on manually. Point the remote directly at the lights. Press the off and on buttons on the remote to turn the lights off and on. To select the low brightness mode, with the lights on, press the mode change button on the remote. To return to full brightness, press the on button. To activate the timer feature, turn the lights on and press the 30 min button once. The lights will stay on for 30 minutes and then shut off automatically.
MANUAL OPERATION: Push the center button on the light once to turn it on. Push the center button again to turn the light off.
REPLACING BATTERIES IN THE LIGHT: Place the light between the palms of your hands. Apply a slight pressure and twist the back counter clockwise until you feel a click. Remove the back. Remove the batteries and replace them with 3 new AAA alkaline batteries. Replace the back on the light. Using the palms of your hands, apply a slight pressure and twist the back clockwise until you feel a click.
REPLACING BATTERIES IN THE REMOTE: Slide the remote out of its cradle. Push down on the battery cover arrow with your thumb and slide the cover off. Remove the batteries and replace them with 2 new AAA alkaline batteries. Replace the battery cover by sliding it back into place until you feel a click.
Caution: Replace all batteries at the same time. Do not install batteries backwards, charge or put in fire. Do not mix old and new batteries. Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable (Ni-Cd, Ni-MH, etc.) batteries. This may cause batteries to leak or explode. Old or discharged batteries must be recycled or disposed of properly.
Warning! To prevent serious injury, including temporary or permanent loss of sight do not stare into the light, shine light into eyes or focus the beam using an additional lens. Keep away from infants and toddlers as this product contains small parts.
This product is not a toy! Use this light only as it is intended. Inspect before every use, do not use if parts are damaged, loose or missing.

I just got them and now the remote doesn’t turn on the lights and when I press down on the lights nothing happens.
Sorry to hear that. Please open the battery compartment ya on both lights and make sure there are no battery savers inside. Remove them if so. Same for the remote.
You do have to turn the lights on manually first before operating them with the remote. Once turned on manually you can turn them off and on with the remote.

Lites will not go off with the remote
Try turning the lights on manually first. Then use the remote to turn off. From that point on, you should be able to turn them on and off using the remote.
Safe these for indoor use only Can these be used outdoors
They are not intended for outdoor use where directly exposed to precipitation. They work fine in covered areas however.
How do I get remote to work? New batteries already installed as well and doesn’t work right out of package.
