      Unscrew the bottom cap on the flashlight and remove the battery cartridge. Remove the batteries and replace them with 9 AA alkaline batteries. The negative side of the batteries is oriented toward the spring in each of the 3 chambers. Once the batteries are loaded, replace the cartridge. Screw tha battery compartment cap back on.
